Champion partnered with Moe's Sport Shop to create
sweatshirts and T-shirts for the University of Michigan. This marked the beginning of college athletic wear as we know it, including the first hoodie. The hoodie
was designed and developed for practical reasons as a warm-up or "off-the-field" garment that could be worn during
halftime or practice.
